Restaurants, cafes and other local businesses involved in the hospitality sector are offering visitors a variety of delicious meals and tasty treats as part of the annual Bahrain Food Festival.
The third edition of the event was launched last week at The Park in The Avenues, a corniche located close to the new mall, by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA).
The carnival-style event, which is decked out in rustic décor and vibrant colours, features more than 70 outlets and restaurants, including stalls showing nutritional products, culinary equipment and more.
Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa, the chief executive officer of BTEA, said: “This year’s festival features a larger number of food vendors and offers a variety of activities that are suitable for the entire family.”
The festival is one of BTEA’s major events and aims to attract food lovers from across the kingdom and neighbouring countries offering participating restaurants and outlets the opportunity to showcase their concepts and further position the kingdom as a regional gastronomy destination.
As people walked around the venue admiring the different cuisines on show and food trucks, there were a series of roaming acts to entertain the children and there will be a number of live cooking shows, musical performances and other fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.
The event will run until March 10, daily from 5pm to 11pm.
The festival was launched last Thursday in the presence of the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, the director general of the office of the Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
