German brand MCM, which stands for Modern Creation München, celebrates music, movement and modern design with its latest autumn and winter 2018 Avatar line.

The electric and dynamic collection looks like being a ‘sound’ investment! Not surprising really as the label was founded in 1976 amid Munich’s disco days to its coming-of-age with the ground-breaking cool of 1980s New York hip-hop.

There is no denying that music has played a pivotal role in the label’s existence which is why this collection features cassette-inspired bags.

The series is a playful update on key MCM styles incorporating musical motifs such as tapes, vinyl records and DJ boards.

The bags are available in colourful Stark backpack and Berlin cross-body shapes as well as accessories.

And what better way to highlight the collection and a love for hip hop and rap than by linking up with rising MC Rich The Kid to model the looks in its campaign alongside blue-haired beauty DJ Sita Abellan.

Dimitri Leslie Roger, 26, known professionally as Rich the Kid, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, record executive and actor. His debut album The World Is Yours was released in March to much acclaim.

Hailing from Murcia, Spain, Sita Abellan, 25, is at the vanguard of a new wave of cultural tastemakers, pushing boundaries where music and style collide.
