GulfWeekly’s legendary former assistant editor Nawaar Farooq’s appetite for life knows no limit as she proved once again at a lunch gathering with former colleagues.

She was on a flying visit from her home in the US to visit her family and managed to tuck into three starters, four main courses and two desserts at our reunion.

Nicknamed ‘prawn ball’ for her party trick of placing a dozen delicacies in her mouth without choking, she once stunned celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck by devouring a giant steak straight off his fork without chewing.

Nawaar will shortly be tying the knot with her sweetheart Neel and insists she will not need to shed any pounds to fit into her wedding gown. “I’m naturally skinny,” she said, tucking into a slice of chocolate cake.

It’s just not fair.
