Gulf Weekly Letters

Wow! I’m honoured and speechless! I woke up last Wednesday to a front cover for Monumental Marketing in last week’s issue of GulfWeekly and online at www.gulfweekly.com

Seeing this took me back and made me think of the truly fabulous journey between Bahrain and now. It’s actually quite emotional!

None of this would have been possible without my lovely team, clients and Monumental cheerleaders that believed in us from day one.

We’ve had such a wonderful response from your article. People have been contacting us left, right and centre.

Thank you very much for the fabulous overview and the BSB quote did tickle me ‘flamboyance’ – love it!

Jamie Love, London.

PS. Go easy on the before and after pic!

Thank you for the amazing coverage on the FinTech Talent Programme in last week’s Gulf Weekly! Much appreciated.

Fatema Ebrahim, CEO, Andra Public Relations.

A massive ‘thank you’ to Kristian and the GulfWeekly team! I really appreciate last week’s back page coverage headlined Golden Oldies. It will be a great memento of all those years of rugby-playing mayhem!

Jonty Crosse, Bahrain.

The sound of bat on ball will once again be heard as The Indian Club 7-A-Side Softball Cricket Festival gets underway at the club’s premises in Gudaibiya from May 18 to June 22.

Always a popular event at The Indian Club, this year’s tournament will no doubt attract a good numbers of entries as teams vie not only for the trophies and cash prizes on offer, but also the glory and bragging rights of coming out on top in India’s No 1 sport.

Entries are invited for the Men’s Open category. Each team will be allowed a squad of nine players, with seven taking the field for each match.

Entry forms are available at the club reception and the last date for registration is May 12. The number of entries will be limited, so best to enter sooner rather than later!

For further information on the event, please feel free to contact me on 36367143 or the coordinators, John on 36093383 and Nishant on 39408015, or the club reception on 17253157.

Vivek Subramanya, cricket secretary.

The first of a series of FinTech events held in partnership with Andra Public Relations & Corporate Communications, Capital Club and Innervate Technology Solutions UK, took place at the club’s Bahrain Financial Harbour venue attracting an audience of more than 50.

The speakers were Andy Startin, CEO of Innervate Technology Solutions, Keith Fenner, who works for Microsoft covering Middle East & Africa as Dynamic 365 business group director, and former Fleet Street journalist Simon Wright, now head of corporate communications at Halfords Group.

The FinTech Series will be hosting corporates and start-ups from Bahrain’s FinTech space and MENA. The aim of this initiative goes towards supporting the FinTech ecosystem growth in Bahrain and to provide an engaging platform for FinTech industry leaders to share their stories and address the most pressing issues and trends in the sector.

The new monthly event will focus on various FinTech innovations and themes that will shape different industries and sectors within the region. This includes a special focus on developments in regulatory technology, also known as a RegTech, money transfer, block-chain, and more.

In the future, the series will be documented, creating a FinTech channel that will be accessible to everyone, the organisers say.

The FinTech Series will build a compilation of insights and also serve as a learning tool for prospective FinTech enthusiasts and entrepreneurs.

Alexandra Laszlo, account executive, Andra.
