Our dearest daughter Fatema departed this world for heavenly abode on October 31 at the age of 24. She had been battling muscular distrophy disease all her life and spent the last three years dependent on a ventilator and on a peg tube for food.
She was always strong though with plenty of will and determination. Can you even imagine what life is like without food and water for three years or not being able to talk or breathe for three years??
Her bumpy journey did not slow down her ambitions as she wanted to live her life to the fullest. She also taught us how to live our life.
She decided to join university and complete her studies which were left in between because of her health issues.
We thank Arab Open University for allowing her to attend classes in spite of her medical complications and however she managed to finish her course.
Her book, My Understanding of Life as I Know It, was launched on September 7, 2018 in Bahrain. Her dream was to present her book personally to Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and it came true when she got a call from Shaikh Nasser’s office on October 7, 2019.
She was a great admirer of his and wanted to present the book to him personally. We, the parents of Fatema, are extremely grateful to Shaikh Nasser for his kind gesture.
Her goal in life was to set an example for the specially challenged children, inspiring them to keep going, that life never stops and to live your ambitions and never give up.
We pray to God to rest our beloved daughter’s soul in peace and grant her the highest of heaven, ameen. Lastly, we are extremely thankful to Shaikh Nasser for his condolence message for Fatema.
