All four Formula 1 races in the Americas have been cancelled for the 2020 season, due to travel restrictions and the current state of the Covid-19 pandemic on the continents.
The four races, in Texas (United States), Montreal (Canada), Mexico City (Mexico) and São Paulo (Brazil) have been scrapped and three European rounds have been added including old favourites Imola (Italy), Nurburgring (Germany) and Algarve (Portugal).
The three new additions to the calendar have not hosted F1 races in over five years and are relatively new to most of the drivers, with only Lewis Hamilton having driven on the Portugal circuit and Kimi Raikkonen on the Italian circuit. A number of drivers have experienced the infamous Nürburgring.
