The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain unveiled an exhibit of PLEX’EAT, an innovative dining solution to help diners feel safe during the Covid-19 global pandemic. Cone-shaped Plexiglass dome visors are hung over each chair, surrounding each persons’s upper body to avoid the spread of airborne pathogens. Designed by French designer and decorator Christophe Gernigon, PLEX’EAT maintains the aesthetic of the restaurant while an overture on the back allows guests to easily move, enter and exit from the dome.
Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain general manager Bernard de Villèle, said: “Our goal remains to be the benchmark of luxury hospitality and what better way to prove our dedication to this cause than to introduce a first-of-its-kind safe setting to fine dining. We are also very proud to be the first ones to introduce PLEX’EAT in the region, in collaboration with our ownership, International Hotels Establishment.”
The PLEX’EAT solution is currently on display in the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain, with plans to roll it out at Ritz-Carlton hotels across Europe and North America over the coming months.
