Barcelona-born chef Richard Alcayde will be dishing out Spanish delicacies at The Westin City Centre Bahrain’s vibrant Spanish restaurant, Salero Bahrain, over the next three days to commemorate Spain’s National Day, marked today.

The talented 2017 Top Chef España winner, who specialises in a mix of modern and traditional Spanish cuisine, will be taking diners on a culinary journey through Spain with a seven-course set menu dinner tomorrow (October 13) and on Friday (October 14) from 7pm to 11pm, featuring signature dishes from each area.

“The menu will include huevos de campo rotos de Navarra, which is Navarra-style eggs popular in northern Spain Navarra,” said the chef who has been in the gastronomic game since the age of 13, studying culinary arts in a private school called Mar de Alboran, at the hand of a great chef named Pedro Olmedo.

“I will even feature a tartar dish synonymous with Cadiz, an ancient port city in the Andalucia region of southwestern Spain and Gazpacho de Tomate Iberico con Langostinos, which is Iberian tomato gazpacho with prawns from Malaga where I grew up. Gazpacho is my signature dish and my favourite childhood dish is Paella. I would love for diners to feel as if they have travelled to Spain with every single bite.”

Chef Richard, who is currently a co-owner of La Kocina Gastrolaba cooking school based in Spain, will also be serving up scrumptious Spanish fare on Saturday (October 15) for the five-star-hotel’s Spanish National Day Brunch from 1pm to 5pm.

Diners set to enjoy the feasts are definitely in good hands as Chef Richard has also spent the last seven years managing Europe’s most important 90-day music festival featuring more than 80 artists including Alejandro Sanz, Jennifer Lopez and Andrea Bocelli. He has also worked over the years with great chefs like Dani García or Juan Mari Arzak, Rodrigo de la calle and Manolo de la Osa.

“I look forward to further providing the tastes of Spain to food lovers in Bahrain and what better place than at Salero,” added Chef Richard.

Price starts at BD30net per person.
