The second season of the American fantasy TV drama Sweet Tooth is set to drop tomorrow on Netflix, giving apocalyptic junkies the perfect show to binge this weekend.
Based on the comic book by Jeff Lemire, the first season of the Warner Bros show touched down on Netflix in 2021 and is set in a post-apocalyptic future where a viral pandemic wipes out most of the world’s population and sees the birth of hybrid babies.
The story focuses on Gus, a young boy who is a half-human, half-deer living in a remote location with his father.
“As a deadly new wave of the Sick bears down, Gus (Christian Convery) and a band of fellow hybrids are held prisoners by General Abbot (Neil Sandilands) and the Last Men,” Netflix added in the synopsis for the show.
“Looking to consolidate power by finding a cure, Abbot uses the children as fodder for the experiments of captive Dr Aditya Singh (Adeel Akhtar), who’s racing to save his infected wife Rani (Aliza Vellani).
“As the revelations of the past threaten the possibility of redemption in the present, Gus and his found family find themselves on a collision course with Abbot and the evil forces that look to wipe them out once and for all.”
Season 2 will consist of eight hour-long episodes and will see Oanh Ly join as a co-executive producer.
The new season premieres on Thursday, April 27 on Netflix.
