A STAR-STUDDED line-up of artists, including Dua Lipa, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, Tame Impala, and Ryan Gosling will be flexing their vocal chords in the soundtrack to the upcoming Barbie film.
Barbie: The Album is the official soundtrack to the upcoming live-action movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan, and is set to be released on July 21, the same day as the big-screen sensation.
The first single from the album, Dance the Night Away by Dua Lipa, was released last Friday. The song is a catchy, upbeat anthem about empowerment and self-expression.
The rest of the album is just as diverse and exciting with Lizzo’s Pink, a powerful ode to self-love as well as Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice’s Barbie World (With Aqua), a fun and playful track that celebrates the iconic doll.
Tame Impala’s dreamy and introspective Journey to the Real World and Ryan Gosling’s hilariously self-aware I’m Just Ken also feature on the album.
The 17-track album is executive produced by Mark Ronson, who has worked with some of the biggest names in music, including Amy Winehouse, Bruno Mars, and Lady Gaga.
Khalid, Ava Max, Dominic Fike, Gayle, Fifty Fifty, Kali, Karol G, and the Kid Laroi also make musical appearances on the album, which is being released in cassette and a number of colourful vinyl formats, as well as the traditional digital streams.
