A three-part documentary covering one of the most publicised court cases in recent Hollywood history is set to start streaming today on Netflix.
Depp V Heard will recount the events of the trial between the pair of Hollywood heavyweights and look at the consequences, including the decision to air it to the public.
The original case between formerly married couple Johnny Depp and Amber Heard was held in Fairfax County, Virginia, from April 11 to June 1 last year.
It ruled on allegations after Johnny, as plaintiff, filed a complaint of defamation against defendant Amber claiming $50 million in damages; Amber filed counterclaims against Johnny claiming $100m in damages.
The new documentary, directed and executive produced by Emma Cooper, covers not just the trial but the social media buzz around it, as well as the role that the media played in the trial, and the decision to stream the trial live.
The three-part series starts streaming on Netflix today.
