A thrilling Bahraini military-inspired reality show has television viewers glued to their screens as they watch people from all walks of life take on an array of challenges endured first-hand by soldiers ... to see who has what it takes to survive.
The Arabic show, entitled Gadeha, which means equal to or up to the challenge/task, was conceptualised by National Security Adviser and Royal Guard Commander Major General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and produced by the Royal Guard.
The idea was brought to life by Royal Guard Special Force Commander Colonel Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the show was created by Studio Master WLL. It was directed by Ahmed AlShaikh, who has an extensive portfolio in military-based content ranging from documentary films, opening ceremonies and music videos.
“This concept evolved into one of the first in the Arab nations in terms of production that promises to leave viewers fascinated,” production manager Abdulrahman Alabbad told GulfWeekly.
“Collaborating closely with officers and instructors from the Royal Guard, Ahmed has flawlessly merged artistry and precision to create an entertainment experience. That said, it is not just another entertainment spectacle, it is an opportunity to witness the hardships and sacrifices endured by military soldiers. Through our meticulously crafted performances, we aim to create an authentic experience that allows you to gain deeper insights into their lives, their unwavering discipline, and their relentless pursuit of excellence.”
Registration for the show started on social media platforms on February 10, 2022 and a staggering 754 candidates signed up.
“A total of 452 candidates were able to participate in the examination, and out of these, only 92 were selected to compete in the TV show,” added Abdulrahman.
“In just four-and-a-half hours, spread across seven gripping episodes, we have managed to condense an astonishing 1,000 hours of filming into a captivating storyline, with the top three finishers being crowned the ultimate winners. Each episode, averaging about 35 minutes, is packed with thrills, twists, and unforgettable moments that will leave you craving for more.
“The show also serves as a powerful vehicle for personal growth because our programme is designed to push participants beyond their comfort zones, helping them discover their inner strength and resilience.
“By challenging yourself physically and mentally, you will acquire essential skills such as discipline, determination, teamwork, and leadership – qualities that transcend boundaries and are applicable in all areas of life.
“We firmly believe that anyone can achieve greatness with the right mindset and dedication. Through expert guidance from our team of experienced trainers and mentors, you will learn practical strategies to overcome obstacles on your path towards achieving your desired goals and dreams.
