Artists can now apply for the third iteration of a popular local art residency programme, which will help them further explore and reflect on their artistic journey.
Al Riwaq Art Residency announced an open call yesterday for the Application 003 programme, which will run from January 29 to April 29 next year.
“Application 003 art residency offers a distinct platform for participating artists to broaden their critical perspectives and knowledge, reflecting on their artworks,” a spokesperson for the art space located in Gufool, added in a statement.
“The programme includes education and project development opportunities, one-on-one curatorial mentorships, discussions, weekly peer reviews and access to individual studio spaces.
“The residency delves into complex personal and practical inquiries, embracing hybridity and local knowledge and fostering an exploration of the artists’ unique ways of seeing.”
The three-month long programme will culminate in a group exhibition. The deadline for applications is January 1 and successful applicants will be notified on January 10.
As part of the application, artists are required to submit a portfolio of their work, as well as a project idea that they wish to explore during the intensive 12-week programme.
