Ferrari will unveil the Formula 1 car they hope can help them take the fight to world champions Red Bull in 2024 on February 13.
The Italian team are the first to publicly reveal their 2024 launch date, but they have chosen not to release any specific details about their launch plans.
According to Formula One’s official website, the launch will take place just eight days before the start of pre-season testing, which runs across three days in Bahrain from February 21-23.
Team Principal Fred Vasseur said Ferrari are changing ‘95 per cent of the components of the car’ which finished third in the constructors’ championship behind Red Bull and Mercedes.
The 2024 campaign will be Vasseur’s second season at the helm of the Prancing Horse, and the third car built in Maranello to sweeping new regulations introduced in 2022.
Vasseur also opened up about his first season at the helm of one of F1’s most famous operations, talking about the early-season pressure he experienced and how Ferrari turned their campaign around.
“I think the level of expectation was a bit too high at the beginning and when we arrived to Bahrain it was quite okay, but then Jeddah and so [on] was difficult, we had quite a tough moment at this period of the season,” he told Sky Sports after the Abu Dhabi finale.
“But then we went back and I would say after the [summer] break we had a very good last seven or eight races, I don’t know. We were always on the first row, always fighting for pole position, we fought with Red Bull at the last two or three events.
“I think overall it’s more reliability issue that we pay the price of P2 than something else. It’s good to have room for improvement for next year also, [but] I don’t want to be too optimistic. But when you see the last part of the season, I think we have to build up on this dynamic.”
