In an exciting twist that has set fans raving, Ellen Pompeo, better known as Meredith Grey in the popular series Grey’s Anatomy, seems to be making a comeback to the show.

In a new 30-second trailer for the 20th season released on December 29, Meredith was seen giving fans a real shake-up as for what’s to come.

The video beings with Meredith sitting in an office and asking, “How long do I have to wait?” The scene then shifts to a shot of the surgical interns getting ready for a new day.

Chandra Wilson, who plays the popular character Miranda Bailey is also seen in the trailer saying, “What are you waiting for? Let’s go.”

The trailer, which picks up from where Season 19 left off, gives fans a glimpse of the cliff-hangers that will be answered in this season. Fans were wondering about the fate of their favourite characters after last year’s finale, but the trailer leaves them excited to see some of the original cast’s faces.

Grey’s Anatomy is a medical drama television series that focuses on the personal and professional lives of surgical interns and residents. The heart-wrenching story revolves around the life-changing decisions made by doctors on the path to becoming the finest.

Ellen has played the character since 2005 in more than 400 episodes. She began as an intern, became a surgical resident, then attending surgeon, and closed out her run on the series as chief of surgery.

In March, Kelly McCreary, who took on the role of Meredith’s half-sister Maggie Pierce, had announced her departure from Grey’s Anatomy after becoming a series regular in season 11.
