SCIENCE fiction comedy film Borderlands is out in theatres today.
Directed by Eli Roth, the story follows Lilith, an outlaw who forms an alliance with a ragtag team of misfits, embarking on a mission to find a missing girl who holds the key to the secrets of planet Pandora.
Starring Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Barbie’s Ariana Greenblatt among others, the American movie is based on an action, role-playing video game of the same name that takes place in a Space Western, science fantasy setting, created and produced by Gearbox Software.
When asked about the movie, the game development company’s chief executive Randy Pitchford assured that while lovers of the video game are the main audience, the film will also serve as an entry point to those who have never played the game.
“Borderlands has some kind of magic to it in the video game space, and I’m very curious to see if it has that same magic in the movie space, and I think it might,” Randy said.
