Season two of dystopian South Korean series Squid Game is now available on Netflix.
Created by Korean writer and television producer Hwang Dong-hyuk, the series revolves around a contest where 456 players in financial hardship risk their lives playing deadly children games for a chance to win a $45.6 billion prize.
The seven-episode sequel is set to follow main protagonist Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who was seen in the season one finale vowing revenge after winning the Squid Game. He decides to return to the game to take revenge on Hwang In-ho (Lee Byung-hun), the Front Man and overseer of the game, and end it for good.
Released worldwide in 2021, season one earned great success and critical acclaim, as it became Netflix’s most-watched series, surpassing Bridgerton.
It also received numerous accolades, including 14 Emmy Award nominations and six wins.
