Under sunny blue skies, Awali Golf Club (AGC) hosted the 26th Bahrain Ladies Golf Championship at the weekend … but concerns have been voiced over the weather forecast as the men prepare to battle in their Open event.
Nearly 100 golfers took to the Royal Golf Club’s Montgomerie championship course to compete in the Audi quattro Cup, marking the local return of the world’s largest amateur golf tournament series. The first Bahrain edition of the tournament took place in 2010.
An annual golf tournament held at the Royal Golf Club in remembrance of all the people who died in the Al Dana Dhow tragedy on March 30, 2006, has raised more than BD100. The money will be used by the Christian Community Cemetery Committee to support the upkeep of a memorial headstone in the old Christian Cemetery in Manama.
