I REFER to Dr Tarik’s letter regarding erythropoietin and headaches in last week’s GulfWeekly. Firstly, I wonder how you can quantify headaches in mice. Secondly, he need not worry about testing the effects of the hormone on humans. Surely, all he needs to do is ask some of the riders in the Tour de France if they suffer from headaches. Haven’t some been known to use performance-enhancing drugs such as this? I hope this will help him complete his research.
