Hoarders anonymous come out and play

DUBAI: Stamps, cameras, dinky cars and all manner of tat is on display at The Collectors Exhibition at BurJuman Centre until July 16.

Expect dust-catching memorabilia of all kinds at the mall’s new extension, including matchboxes, watches and luxury cars for the second year running.
Part of the Dubai Summer Surprises, the event has grown out of Modhesh’s big yellow shadow and promises to turn into a right collectible of gargantuan dimensions itself.
Once bitten by the collecting bug, the idea of building a collection becomes a mission for certain individuals. A collection, eventually becomes a representation of a person’s preferences, his perseverance and his individuality.
“The response this time has been overwhelming and their enthusiasm encouraged us to give the event its own branding identity. We have hope that the exhibition will expand beyond expectations and giving it an identity is the first thing we can do to help its growth,” says Ahmad Al Zaabi, DSS exhibition co-ordinator.
