MANAMA: The Middle East Museum Management (MEMMS) is the first in a series of regional museum seminars that the British Council Middle East is planning to run over the next two years.
It will be held on November 13-14 at Beit Al Quran in Bahrain.
The seminar aims to engage with museum directors and senior managers within the museum sector in the Gulf States and Yemen and provides a unique opportunity for networking amongst specialists in the region and their counterparts in the UK.
“This seminar will not only help build capacity amongst museum professionals in the Gulf and Yemen, but also assist in developing an active dialogue between museum professionals in the Middle East to discuss common issues.
From a broader perspective, the seminar will foster a sustainable dialogue between Middle East and UK museum professionals with the aim of building long term relationships,” explained Jamal Al Moosawi-Hassanovich, regional arts projects manager — Middle East.
Five museum professionals representing leading UK institutes have been invited to the MEMMS in addition to 15 professionals from eight countries from the Middle East.
