Banking on it

It’s gratifying to see that the government has started random checks at companies to make sure they are complying with the law and paying salaries through the bank.

This should severely hamper company owners from cheating their workers and deducting pay as there will be proof of the amount paid in.
There is still a very long way to go before mistreatment of workers is stamped out but as they say: ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’ and the fact that efforts are being made is a huge step forward for basic human rights. Long may the efforts continue!
