So how do you know when its time to give your body a detox?

If you’re feeling lethargic, lacking in energy, have a poor memory, your complexion is dull and sallow and you seem to be picking up every cold and flu bug around then your body may be crying out to be detoxed!
The liver is the powerhouse of our bodies that everything passes through and if it’s not working at its optimum level it will store toxins resulting in ill health. To help keep our liver healthy we need to incorporate more vegetables and fruit and stay away from alcohol, caffeine and salty fried foods, as these make the liver work harder. Add a few drops of milk thistle herbal extract to water — this will protect and detoxify your liver. Keep hydrated and drink at least eight glasses of water a day to flush your system out. Another option is to add a slice of lemon and teaspoon of honey to a warm glass of water and drink it first thing in the morning as this will help cleanse your insides as well as purify the liver.
Detox foot pads are a new craze at the moment, apply the footpads before sleeping and wake up in the morning and see what toxins your body is harbouring, (you’re in for a nasty surprise, I tried them). It can take up to a month for the pads to become clear therefore resulting in less toxins running through your body.
Once you’ve completed a detox you will see great improvement in your overall health and appearance, your immune system and internal organs will work more efficiently, therefore giving you more energy and your concentration will be much better, giving you a new zest for life.
Don’t be put off by a few side effects when doing a detox; these include headaches, spots, bad breath and some weight loss.
Some other treatments you can include are daily body brushing, massage, reflexology and aromatherapy massage — these all help push those toxins along. Also incorporate exercise into your daily routine.
Now I understand how all these stars seem to be endless party animals and on the go 24/7, it’s because they run away to spa retreats and detox every once in a while.
P.S If your going to drastically change your diet, consult a doctor first.
