Clothes-swap idea

IT seems the new fashion trend hitting the UK at the moment is swapping instead of shopping.

While friends have been doing it for years, the first large-scale user friendly swapshop “Visa Swap” is to be launched next month.
Visa and TRAID (Textile Recycling for Aids and International Development) have got together to organise a high-fashion swapping event where swappers will be able to drop off their unwanted clothes, which will then be assessed for their value with points awarded on a ‘credit card’ in return. They will then be able to return two weeks later and spend their points on other people’s clothes.
What a genius idea! Not only do you get a brand new wardrobe for free but you also do your bit for the environment because so much is thrown away each year. If we can do something to cut the waste and have an effect on the sweat shops that use child labour to make so many of the clothes on our backs, we might just leave this world a little better than we found it.
