Hed Kandi returns for the second event in its exclusive deal with BJ’s Nightclub on Friday, June 15.
Following the success of “BJ’s on the Beach” with Hed Kandi at Coral Beach Club over the F1 weekend, the second event promises to rock the dance floor in BJ’s.
Hed Kandi, one of the world’s largest lifestyle clubbing brands, with its accessible, vocal, disco house proved a favourite with all clubbers on its last visit to Bahrain.
Providing the soundtrack to the event is Jim Breeze. Jim was hand-picked for the Hed Kandi Residency in 2005 as a result of his trademark sets, a combination of edgy electronic tones and peak-time vocal tracks.
Having recently produced Hed Kandi CD compilations “Serve Chilled” and “Beach House” Jim became resident DJ at Café Mambo in Ibiza.
Hed Kandi promises to be the clubbing event of 2007 so far and BJ’s is offering you the opportunity to sign up now to become a member of the Hed Kandi community by filling out a form at BJ’s or JJ’s. The doors open at 9pm for the warm up session with DJ Salime the winner of the BIC DJ Face Off 2006. Advance Tickets go on sale on June 1 from Hava Java in Seef Mall at the special price of BD8 for standard tickets.

Following the success of LIFE Music Festival’s first concert that featured Boyz II Men, Vibe has announced that Grammy-winning reggae star, Shaggy, is set to continue livening things up for the 2nd LIFE Music Festival, planned to be the biggest indoor music festival series in the region. Shaggy will be performing in Dubai on Thursday, June 7 at the Madinat Areena, Madinat Jumeirah from 9pm onwards.
Shaggy's international success began in 1993 with the release of his debut album, Pure Pleasure, which featured “Oh Carolina”, one of the biggest hit singles in UK pop history. His 1995 Boombastic album proved Shaggy’s position as a consistent hit maker, winning the 1996 Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album while the title track topped Billboard’s Reggae, R&B and Rap charts. It also became the No1 selling single and hit No3 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Single Charts.
Following his breakout success with an extensive world tour, Shaggy released his third album, Midnite Love in 1997.
In 2000, the reggae star released his massively successful MCA album, Hot Shot, with its global number one singles, “It Wasn’t Me” and “Angel”. With a six-week run at number one on the album charts, over six million albums were sold in the US alone. Having earned a host of Grammys and awards, Shaggy is considered to be one of the most successful reggae/pop artists worldwide.
