Packing it in all for a perfect holiday

WE all love going on holiday, well, I do. But I bet I am not the only one who dislikes packing.

I always want to take every single item I own with me so I have a good choice of matching shoes and bags. After I have come to terms with the reality of ‘no, you cannot fit every item in’ I strategically start packing.
Let’s imagine it’s only a two-week break. Now set aside enough underwear and night wear for the trip – place inside a net draw string bag and pack it in a side pocket.
When it comes to socks, ties, head scarves and even sarongs and bikinis these can be rolled up and placed inside shoes.
Mix-and-match as much as you can when it comes to heavy items such as shoes and bags, place smaller evening clutch bags inside your bigger day bags to save a lot of space.
Prominent shoes around at the moment are ballet style flat shoes which are very lightweight so you can get quite a few pairs in your case, trust me, as well as flip flops. Evening shoes with heels can be placed inside protective shoe bags … and this applies for men’s shoes.
Roll all your clothes up before packing. It may seem a bizarre thing to do but you get loads more in than expected and clothes stay crease free.  If an item of clothing is slightly creased hang it in the bathroom whilst you have a shower – the steam will help creases fall out quicker and iron much easier.
When it come to your toiletry bags make sure it has a plastic lining incase any bottles leak in flight and also try and look for miniature-sized bottles of brand names. It will help to give you more space, and as it will be just enough for the average two-week break meaning you can dispose of the left-overs before you head home leaving more room for gifts.
There are so many styles, colours and designs of suitcases, travel bags, carry-ons and luggage around these days from Samsonite, Delsey and Kipling to name a few brands, but it all comes down to personal choice. Ricardo Beverley hills have some snazzy leopard skin designed luggage bags but again it’s not to everyone’s taste.
Finally, don’t forget to add a bright ribbon to your luggage so you can spot it from 10km on the conveyer belt!
