MANAMA: Niqi Brown transforms herself to Tina Turner on June 27 at JJ’s Irish Restaurant & Pub in the Al Bustan Hotel in Adliya. Regarded as one of UK’s top tribute acts. She will perform Tina Turner classics, from the upbeat rock sounds of “Nutbush City Limits” and “Simply the Best” through to her ballads such as “Private Dancer” and “Let’s Stay Together” along with some other classics from prominent Motown artists of the period. MANAMA: DJ Tiesto’s debut concert will be held at the Marina Club on July 4. World-class DJ Tiesto from Holland is claimed to be the first in the world to sell out a solo stadium event for over 25,000 people two nights in a row. Amongst his top numbers are “Traffic” and “remix of Delerium featuring Sarah McLachlan’s Silence”. Doors open at 8pm. Pre-sale tickets are priced at BD25 and BD35 on the event night. DUBAI: Former member of The Fugees and Grammy award winner, Lauryn Hill will perform at the third Life Music Festival event to be held on July 5 at the MPV – the indoor Madinat Arena, Madinat Jumeirah. Multi Platinum award winner Hill has won over thirty awards including eight Grammy awards and three World best selling Music Awards. In 1996, The Fugees’ “Killing Me Softly” won the Grammy for the R&B category. Hill has teamed up with big stars in the music industry such as John Legend and Bob Marley. The festival will also feature Karl Wolf, Danny Neville and DJ Bliss. Doors of the festival will open at 7pm.
