INDIAN School student Mohmad Zafran Salih, 16, is the winner of the British Council’s NorthSouthEastWest photography competition on climate change.

The entries were judged by award winning photographer Camille Zakharia, who selected Mohmad’s work which depicted a duck by the side of a polluted lake, hesitant to enter the water.
Mohmad’s prize is a 7.1 Megapixel digital camera.
The competition was launched as part of the British Council’s NorthSouthEastWest exhibition, which was held at the Beit Al Quran in May and June this year.
NorthSouthEastWest was originally conceived by the British Council and the Climate Group as part of ZeroCarbonCity – a two-year project to highlight the issues of climate change and energy challenges facing cities around the world.
Earlier this month nine-year old Nigel James Fernandes and 12-year old Amal Al-Basha each won BD100 worth of professional arts supplies in a drawing competition on the same theme.
