Gulf Weekly US appreciation for BCS staff posted in Iraq

Staff from Bahrain-based information telecommunications company, Business Communication Services (BCS), who have been risking their lives to rebuild Iraq’s communication infrastructure have been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the US Armed Forces.

The certificate recognises BCS personnel’s “outstanding support while working for General Dynamics Information Technology in support of the 734th Transportation Battalion of the US Armed Forces during operation Iraqi Freedom, June 2007.”
BCS staff have been renovating communication systems in the Dalad region of Iraq for the last six months.
“They are completely renovating the whole communication infrastructure,” said Bruce Nicholson, project manager of BCS’s International Operations, “They’ve been pulling cables and climbing in and out of manholes. Most of the work is done on the US military bases but it can be scary at times. Its nice to have people being recognised like this.”
BCS personnel are also currently stationed the volatile town of Tikrit.
Those based in Dalad will return in September.
