Cushioned between a lighting shop and a fast food restaurant on Isa Town’s Estiqlal Highway is one of Bahrain’s best kept secrets.

It’s a spicy little number called Salt n Pepper Café & Restaurant, serving up some of the best Asian food in the kingdom.
It is also the first restaurant in Bahrain to serve delightful Deghi – a traditional Pakistani food served on a truly vast scale. Twenty huge cooking pots brimming with flavourful biryani, masala, hallem, curries and korma provide enough food to feed more than 200 people.
Deghi food is in big demand in Bahrain. Salt n Pepper caters to up to 25 functions a month with their trademark dish.
“Deghi Food is so good because all the flavour is sealed inside the pots, the juices cook together and the aroma is contained,” said restaurant manager, Asad Majeed.
The restaurant was established five years ago and every lunchtime and evening a steady stream of customers come to sample their masalas, biryani, meat and fish dishes. One of Salt n Pepper’s specials is Pakistani Mutton Raan Roast, a deliciously slow-cooked leg of mutton, covered in rich spices.
The restaurants chefs and staff are all from Pakistan providing a truly authentic experience.
