When news broke last week of Britney's sister, Jamie Lynn Spear's pregnancy, my heart couldn't help going out to her. In this day and age of increased awareness of teenage pregnancy it's easy to say she should have known better ... but she's been shown little good example by her family.
Britney shot to super stardom at 16 -_the same age Jamie Lynn -_is now and a large part of her popularity was due to her super squeaky clean image - insisting to the world that she was going to remain a virgin until she married.
Jamie Lynn was thrust into the limelight and may have had to grow up a lot faster than most. But, to be allowed to live with her boyfriend at that age is just irresponsible on her parent's behalf in my opinion and it's little wonder that her mother, Lynn, has since benched a book she was planning to write on good parenting for fear that she might be ridiculed for her hypocrisy ... right?
Jamie's hit series Zoe 101 has now been axed from Nickelodian.
She isn't the first to fall pregnant way before she's ready and many much less fortunate than herself still manage to make successful lives for themselves but they often have a responsible guiding light. Who will fill that role for Jamie?
