Madeleine (Embeth Davidtz), a British-born dealer in "outsider" art, travels from Chicago to North Carolina to pursue a painter for her gallery. She and her near-perfect Southern husband, George (Alessandro Nivola), extend the trip to include an introduction to his family: prickly mother Peg (Celia Weston), taciturn father Eugene (Scott Wilson), angry younger brother Johnny (Benjamin McKenzie) and Johnny's pregnant, child-like wife Ashley (Amy Adams). Ashley takes to the sophisticated Madeleine, but other members of George's family are less than receptive.

MONDAY (Jan 28)
Film - Gigi on TMC at 9.05pm
A complete blast from the past, this was a favourite of mine when I was growing up! As much as I've never really been a fan of musicals, this enchanting film is what all little girls dream of. Staring Louis Jordan as Gaston Lachialle, Maurice Chavalier as his uncle Honore and Leslie Caron as Gigi. Gaston is a young rich gentlemen with many mistresses who is bored with his life and enjoys only spending time with an old friend of his uncle's and her granddaughter, the precocious Gigi.
TUESDAY (Jan 29)
Film - Mr Jones on Cinema City at 7pm
Richard Gere stars as a man suffering from Bipolar disorder that results in him living his life in extremes of depression one minute and happiness the next. When psychiatrist Dr Libby Bowen (Lena Olin) takes an interest in his condition she discovers more than she bargained for by falling in love with him. This is a film that, much like it's leading character, has its highs and its lows but offers an interesting insight into a serious disorder that many people suffer from.
