As the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix draws closer, female fans are frantically invading shopping malls to find a crowd- stopping outfit that will set them apart from the rest of the spectators.

Whether they are viewing the races from the Grand Stand, in the corporate stalls or better yet, have VIP passes to an exclusive area, looking cool, comfortable and classy features high on the agenda.

GulfWeekly asked fans in Bahrain how they planned to put their best foot (and dress) forward for the day at the races. Asma Salman reports Maya Romano, 27, Press officer at the Italian Embassy: Lebanese-Italian Maya who lives in Juffair is going to the races with her Italian husband Salvatore Romano and his sister and her husband who are travelling especially from Italy to Bahrain to attend the races.

They will see the F1 from the VIP enclosure and will cheer the Italians as they burn rubber on the race track. "I went last year in my white T-shirt and jeans but this year I'm going to make more effort with my clothes. I've bought a red Ferrari T-shirt from Seef Mall and will pair it with black trousers from Puma and will slip on my Puma shoes for comfort. "I will sport my Ray Ban Aviator glasses and will carry my Just Cavalli black bag. As it is a sporting event I will keep my jewellery simple to only earrings."
