Dear Stan, This is with reference to the first St Christopher's Concert Series.
This is, I believe, the first time that a series of subscription concerts has been held in Bahrain and I am hoping that it will lead to St Christopher's being able to host a selection of concerts on an annual basis that will enrich us all both musically and culturally.
We are opening this year's concerts with the world-renown Howard Wong, a baritone who studied with Benjamin Luxon and has since won many international competitions, taught at various singing conventions and championed English music worldwide.
Howard will be singing a variety of songs, including some Vaughn Williams (2008 being the 50th anniversary of his death).
I hope that as many people as possible will be able to come and support this event as we are extremely fortunate in being able to have such a well-known soloist with us here in Bahrain.
Howard's recital will be followed be five more concerts over the academic year including a violin recital, a quartet who have performed internationally to great acclaim and, more recently, won the Young Artists Concert Trust, a chamber orchestra that will perform an exciting mix of Baroque and more modern music, a flute recital and a pianist who has not only performed worldwide but is one of the moderators for the Associated Board examining system.
Tickets for all the concerts are on sale priced at BD30 for all six concerts or BD8 at the door.
As well as being an essential for a musically enriched time in Bahrain, they could make a lovely and unusual gift for anybody who would enjoy an evening out. If you are interested in purchasing a set of tickets, please contact me at st.chris.concerts@gmail.com or by mobile on 39150315.
We are also planning to hold some child friendly concerts during the year, aimed specifically at children who would find it too much to sit through a full blown recital as yet.
Details of these will be released as soon as they are finalised.
Finally, if you know of anybody who would be interested in supporting our Concert Series, I would be very grateful to hear from them.
Please spread the word about the concerts so that we are able to keep the series going and encourage other international artists to come and perform for us in Bahrain.
With many, many thanks for your interest and very much looking forward to meeting you at the concerts.
Theresa Finzi,
(Head of Instrumental Music, St Christopher's School).
Dear Stan,
ON behalf of the Novotel Al Dana Resort, I would like to thank you for your support and brilliant job.
The article about Novotel and our general manager Khalid Anib published recently in the GulfWeekly was excellent coverage not only for us but also valuable news for Bahrain tourism.
I really appreciate it and wish we can extend our cooperation in the future.
Once again, thank you very much for your kind support.
Best regards,
Mohammad Iqbal,
