Citibank will host the Dandiya Dhamaka 2008 Navaratri festival on October 10 at the Indian School in Isa Town.

The Indian festival of Navaratri celebrates the victory of good over evil and is marked with the traditional Dandiya dance.

The event begins at 8pm and will feature live performances by Mumbai-based musicians including vocalist Satish Manohar Bhanushali, keyboardist Subhash Prabhakar Malegaonkar and Dandiya-specialist drummer Bhajan Singh.

The evening will also reward the best dressed girl, best dressed boy, best dressed couple and best dancers.

Entry is free to Indian Club members and BD2 for guests.

Artlounge 2 is set to take place at the alfresco, central courtyard of Nadwah Ballroom at the Banyan Tree Al Areen on October 23 from 7pm onwards.

It will exhibit the works of nine Bahraini artists including Fajer Al Khalifa, Faika Al Hassan, Lobna Al Amin, Balqees Fakhroo, Kareema Taha, Ali Al Machmed, Fuad Albinfalah, Khalil Hammad and Ali Al Koofy.

The FC Sayaw Unlimited will host a benefit dance project titled 'Salsa Latina Noche Encantada Part 2' on October 30 at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Manama. The event is in cooperation with Gawad Kalinga Bahrain. Beneficiaries will be the 2nd GK Bahrain Village for the Homeless in Tarlac, Philippines and the Bahrain Association for Parents and Friends of Disabled. The event will feature a Salsa contest starting at 10.30pm and there will be prizes for the best male and female costumes. Interested contestants can contact Marie on 39827096.

Awali Football Club (AFC) will host its annual children's Halloween party on October 30 from 6pm.

Tickets are priced at BD4 for AFC members and children and BD5 for non-members and are now available in limited numbers.

Younger children will receive a bag of spooky goodies and prizes will be given away for a variety of games including the Dark Dungeon, the Flying Fox, the Guillotine, the Unlucky Dip, Beat the Ghoulie, Name the Witch the Graveyard Hunt and the Name the Black Cat Contest.
