A set of Indian performers including six Odissi dancers and four musicians will perform at the Soorya Bahrain cultural festival at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam's Diamond Jubilee Hall in Segaiya.

The Odissi Ensemble, Akshay Parinja Group from North Indian state Orissa will take to the stage alongside musicians Rajesh Vaidya on sitar, Karuna Moorthy on thakil, Mohana Raman on mrudangam and Chadrajit on the tabla.

A photography exhibition 'Hindustan' by acclaimed Bahraini photographer Ghada Khunji will be opened at the Capital D Studio in Dubai at 7pm. Lebanese stand-up comedian Nemr Abou Nassar will make his Bahrain debut at Club Seven in the Mishal Hotel, Hoora. He has performed with the Axis of Evil, Showtime Arabia's 'Friday Night Live: Minorities Rule!', Hammana Comedy Festival and his own feature shows at the Casino du Liban Theatre in Lebanon.

The Caledonian Society in Awali is hosting a St Andrews Night Ball on at the Bapco Club at 7.30pm. Guest speaker at the event will be John Rutherford, ex-Scottish and British Lion Rugby Internationalist.

The American Women's Association (AWA) is holding a children's Christmas party at the grounds of the residence of US Ambassador Adam Ereli. Children aged 10 and under can enjoy a variety of activities such as games, pictures with Santa, cookie and cupcake decorating and a bouncy slide.

The World Beat Fitness Centre is holding a workshop on drums led by Julie-ann from 10am to 4.30pm. She is a professional drum circle facilitator and authorised Health Rhythms Facilitator. She started her own company Dubai Drums in 2002 and has since drummed with thousands of people from all walks of life. The workshop will include the history of the African Djembe and its different techniques, accessing internal rhythms and reaching group entrainment, free style in the moment rhythmic group creations, introduction to culturally specific rhythms and beat of the African drum and a group activity.

Bahrain's premier art society Elham will host its 15th monthly gathering from 7pm at the Albareh Gallery, Adliya. The evening will feature a solo performance by Omani singer and oud player Mohammed Al-Amri, followed by a screening of short movies including award-winning short film 'Absence' by Mohammed Buali, 'Shanti'- a documentary film of a journey across India to the Himalayas through the eyes of a nine year old boy by filmmaker Anish Verghese, 'The Body' by Saheh Nass based loosely on 'The Hunchbacks Tale' in the 'Tales of 1001 Nights' and 'The Dinner' by Al Riffaei.

Entry is priced at BD3 and the cover charge includes popcorn and refreshments.

Award-winning music superstars George Michael and Alicia Keys will perform in the Middle East for the first time at the Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
