The Bahrain Caledonian Society is hosting the St Andrew's Night on December 4 at the Awal Ballroom in Gulf Hotel, Adliya. Dress code is national dress or black tie. The Kerala Social and Cultural Association (KSCA) will host the Mega Show Bazaar which will be presented by India-based organisation, Taara Arts at the Indian School grounds on December 5.
Leading film and television artistes from South Indian state Kerala including actress Bhama will perform at the show which will begin at 7pm.
The event will also feature a team of comedians led by Prasanth Punnapra and Guinness alongside singers Thushar, Preetha, Ramesh Babu and Shekha. It will also feature a raffle draw offering 250grams of 24-karat gold as the first prize.
Tickets are priced at BD1 (admit one), BD5 (admit one), BD10 (admit two) and BD25 (admit four).
A three-day intensive painting and drawing workshop on 'exploring the human form' will be held led by Seana Mercedes Mallen in Awali on December 6, 7 and 8 from 9am to 3.30pm.
Participants will be able to work with many different media from graphite to acrylic paint, using experimental and new techniques to capture the movement and emotion of the human form.
International artist Seana holds an MA degree in Drawing as Process from Kingston University and has held exhibitions in the USA, England and Bahrain. She has led similar workshops for both undergraduate and MA students in London, and has enjoyed teaching drawing and painting to beginners and more advanced students for over 15 years. Cost is BD125, which includes materials, the models' fees and a light lunch and refreshments. Daily rate is BD 50.

Comedian Russell Peters will perform at the 'Bahrain Comedy' on December 11 at the Bahrain Exhibition Centre, Manama. Peters will make his debut Bahrain appearance along with some of the local stand-up comedians who performed during the first show of 'Bahrain Comedy' in October 2008 including Wadah Swar, Yousif Taha and Rehman Akhtar.
DJ Imran Al-Aradi will MC the show and DJ Outlaw will also entertain guests, both of who appeared at the show last month. Peters is a Canadian stand-up comedian with an Anglo-Indian origin who made his way through comedy at the age of 19.
His jokes are mainly based on stereotypes from different ethnicities and cultural backgrounds. For details contact 17297040.
Batelco Melodic Meet 2008 will be held at The Indian School's Jashanmal Auditorium, Isa Town, on December 12.
The event, organised by the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation (BDSF) in association with the Kerala Arts and Cultural Association (KACA), will start at 7.30pm.
It will feature performances by well- known Indian stars.
Performers include south Indian playback singers Anwar Sadath, Mohammed Haneef, and Sangeetha Prabhu. Also performing at the event will be Baiju Jose and Babu Jose, popularly known as the Comedy Cousins.

Bollywood singer Babul Supriyo will perform on December 15 at the Gulf Convention Centre in Gulf Hotel, Adliya.
'Amidst Sargam', organised by the Indian Ladies Association, will raise money for the Sneha Recreation Centre, a free facility for children of all nationalities with special needs. Aside from the entertaining evening, the ILA will also host popular 'Dandiya' dance event on October 3 at Al Ahli Club, Zinj, for the Navratri festival.

The Filipino Club in cooperation with FC Sayaw Unlimited will host the Ms Philippines Bahrain 2008 competition on December 17 at the Gilgamesh Hall in the Golden Tulip Hotel, Manama. The show will begin at 7pm. Proceeds of the event will go to the Bahrain society for children with communication and behavioural difficulties (Alia) and the distressed workers in OWWA centre.
