Plans are progressing to stage a major spring motor show at the Bahrain International Circuit following the success of last year's launch event.

Auto Collection Second Bahrain International Motor Show plans to be bigger and glitzier this year as it returns to the BIC from April 2-4.

Auto Collection - a Bahraini company specialising in auto trade, events and publishing - is building on the success of the first motor show, Gulf Air Bahrain International Motor Show (GABIMS), held in 2007, which attracted Aston Martin, Lamborghini, BMW and Harley Davidson among the participants.

"GABIMS 2007 attracted 4,000 visitors, 50 exhibitors and 20 sponsors. This year, we plan to attract over 100 exhibitors and more than 20,000 visitors," said Wassim Sami Farhoud, founder and CEO of Auto Collection.

Apart from an impressive array of top of the line automobiles, this year the event will showcase boats, bikes (two, three and four wheelers), commercial (trailer trucks, bulldozers, excavators) vehicles and will include all motor related business in the industry.

Also on display will be innovative new motoring products from top international exhibitors and new technologies that can significantly boost performance and productivity of the vehicle.

The BIC F1 garages will be the display area of a variety of consumer vehicles ranging from economical minis to luxurious limousines.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to try out the demonstration vehicles on the racing circuit driven by specialised racing instructors to explore the limits of handling, grip and speed of the vehicles.

Programmes such as drag racing, drifting and concerts are set to keep motoring enthusiasts entertained during the course of the three-day event.
