Members of the British business groups from across the Gulf will now be able to enjoy the benefits of membership of each other's groups with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by representatives from the British Business Groups of Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Province in Saudi Arabia.

Mark Beer, chairman and CEO of the British Business Group, Dubai and the Northern Emirates said: "The signing of the MoU marks a new chapter in the history of the British business groups in the region. In Dubai we have worked hard to develop our links with business organisations such as Young Arab Leaders, Arab Business Angels Network as well the Shaikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and, with the signing of this MoU, we are now working to strengthen our links with the other regional British business groups for the benefit of our members."

To further promote collaboration and knowledge transfer, the group's committees will be actively seeking ways to share information about speaker contacts and high level visitors to the region and meet to discuss opportunities and challenges, working together to share best practice for the benefit of all members and each of the respective groups.

Mr Beer continued: "The British Business Group in Dubai is going from strength to strength, having over 1,450 members. We work closely with the UK trade and Investment team in Dubai, as well as local government departments in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. We have been in existence for over 21 years, making us the longest running business group in Dubai and we are the most active, with around 80 events each year."

A feature of the success of the BBG has been the industry specific 'Focus Group' events which bring together business professionals who share a common interest and are a useful forum for discussion on topical commercial issues.
