THE St Christopher's School leavers of 2009 have more than a Year Book to remember their classroom days thanks to a big-hearted pupil who has produced a DVD memento.
Alice Chapman, 17, from Janussan, is emigrating to Australia this summer along with mum and dad Cherry and Shelley and sisters Katie, 14, and Darcie, 13.
And although looking forward to a new life and starting university, after 11 years at St Christopher's School, she knew she would miss her classmates so she decided to capture their last few days together on film.
And, having read about the work of Tony 'the Dogfather' Waters, in GulfWeekly, the schoolgirl decided she would use her filming skills to raise some much needed cash for his 2nd Chance animal shelter.
She took footage of her classmates at work and at play, singing, dancing, performing on stage, studying and even just generally fooling around, then made a DVD which also features a personal appearance from virtually the whole year group so there will always be a record on the Class of 2009.
She packaged the DVD with a class picture as the sleeve and sold it to her pals at BD2 a shot raising BD50 for the 2nd Chance animals.
Alice said: "I just wanted to make a memory for us all to look back on over the years, my time at St Christopher's is something I will never forget.
"I took footage of all the things we get up to at school, study periods and just everyday life and the leavers' assembly. I've got almost the whole of the Upper Sixth on there so we'll always be able to look back on how we were as we got ready to leave school.
"I decided to give the money to 2nd Chance because I love animals, we've been on at mum and dad to get a dog for years and they've promised us that when we get to Australia that's what we're going to do."
Receiving the cash, Tony said: "I think it's great to see young people getting involved with the animals like this and what Alice has done was a real stroke of genius. The money will come in very useful towards everyday upkeep of the animals and the ever present vet bills and the like."
