Thursday (June 18)Indian DJ Vaggy will perform for the Xplode dance party at the It's Mirchi lounge at the Ramee International Hotel, Juffair. Vaggy was the winner of the All India DJs Warzone Competition in 2004 and has worked with major Asian event management companies.

Friday (June 19)

A six-day workshop Art Identity will be held at the Al Riwaq Gallery in Adliya by visiting international artist Mariam Haji featuring a step-by-step guide to the major fundamental techniques in fine-art practice such as drawing, painting and sculpture. Artists will receive an Art Identity Certificate signed and certified by the culture and arts council Bahrain and Mariam. The workshop is for artists above 18 years of age. Second Chance animal rescue will be having its first garage sale from 9am to 11am at the Dogfather's place in Budaiya. Dishwashers, bikes for adults, cookers, furniture and household items are some of the goodies that will be on sale. All proceeds will go to support the charity committee in its efforts to care for stray, abandoned and abused animals. Donations for the garage sale can be left at the Dogfather's place. Visual artist, DJ and music producer Fawaz Al Olaiwat will perform at the Teknobasso dance party organised by Bahrain-based clubbing brand Elements by Night at Aqua Fuego in Manama. The DJ and producer has established his own record label Teknobasso and is currently working on new releases which are a mix of electro, tech-house, progressive and techno styles alongside old Arabic vocals and drums.

Doors will open at 8pm with warm-up by Bahrain-based DJs Ricardo M and Salime.

A charity sale will be held at the Mirage Village compound Clubhouse from 10am to 5pm to raise funds to help those displaced in Swat, Pakistan. Saturday (June 20)

KSDi will conduct a series of one-day acting seminars at the Bahrain Cinema Club in Juffair. Children's classes (ages 6-12) will be held today from 10am - 4pm. The teen classes (ages 12-18) will be held on Saturday, June 27 from 10am - 4pm and adult classes (18 +) will be held on Saturday, July 4 from 10am - 4pm.

Each class will cost BD20 which will include lunch.

Students will receive instruction on various screen acting techniques which will enhance their abilities, self-confidence, self-awareness, camera presence and improvisational ability and will also help build self esteem. The seminars will be headed by KSDi general manager and veteran Hollywood director, Rick Beeman. Each student will receive a certificate for completion of the course. For an additional BD1 students will receive a professional head shot taken by KSDi's professional photographer Armand Hough and for an additional BD2 each student will receive a professionally edited DVD of the course and their participation in it.

Sunday (June 21)

'World Meditation Hour' will be held from 6.30pm to 7.30pm at the Bahrain Meditation Centre in Adliya. 'An Introduction to Meditation' will be held from 7 to 9pm. The Meditation Course begins today and continues every Tuesday and Sunday evening for three weeks. There will also be Drop-in Meditations every evening from 7 to 7.30pm. The World Beat Fitness Centre in Adliya will be having a coffee morning at 10:30am with professional photographer Jane Bailey. Jane moved to Bahrain in early 2007 with her husband and two children. She had an exhibition with two other artists - "Views of Life" in March 2008. Presently she is doing a broad range of photography and will share her talents and passion with the ladies. Rehearsals are in full swing at St Christopher's Junior School in Saar for the Year 5 and 6 production of Mary Poppins on Monday and Tuesday, June 22 and 23.
