French Language and Cultural Centre, Alliance Franaise de Bahre•n, will host its annual 'Fte de la musique' on Friday, June 19 at the Alliance Franaise Auditorium in Isa Town from 4pm to 10pm and Saturday, June 20 at the Cultural Hall, near Bahrain Museum from 7pm to 10pm.
This event is part of the International Fte de la Musique that has been organised by the French Ministry of Culture since 1982. Last year's event welcomed more than 500 visitors.
This international event, dedicated to musical practice and live music in general, allows the expression of all styles of music in a cheerful atmosphere. It aims at a large audience, working to popularise musical practice for young and not so young people from all social backgrounds. It gives an opportunity to communicate and share a very special moment through music.
The event is free and musicians can promote music practice, music diversity and social and cultural exchanges.
Due to the impulse and the dynamism of the French cultural network abroad including the departments of cultural affairs at the French Embassies, French cultural centres and institutes and the Alliances Franaises, the Fte has experienced important international growth.
This year more than 15 bands and music institutions will participate in the event and for the first time this year, the Bahrain Ministry of Culture and Information will take an active part in the organisation and will be hosting part of the event at the Cultural Hall.
