The Palm Association will hold a fundraising dinner to bring in cash for needy Bahraini families today at the Upstairs Downstairs Restaurant in Adliya.

The event which will have live entertainment and a number of raffle prizes, will fund towards The Palm Association's numerous charitable projects which include, Feed a Family Programme, Project Rebuild as well as its Student Sponsorship Schemes.

The dinner is being organised on the sidelines of ex Bahrain resident Nadia Swan's attempt to climb Africa's highest mountain for the charity.

The UAE resident and former Palm Association committee member hopes to raise BD5,000 when she tackles Mount Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania this weekend.

The dinner is the idea of George Cherian at Upstairs Downstairs, who wanted to make a tangible contribution to Ms Swan's fundraising efforts.

The evening, which starts at 7.30pm, will have a three-course menu, raffle prizes and music with Christine Gordon on vocals backed by the Idiomas Trio.
