Tips for young cricketers

The New Millennium School-DPS is paying host to former cricketer Madanlal, a member of India's 1983 World Cup wining team, from June 23 to 28.

The well-known all-rounder will be giving valuable tips to young school students of Bahrain. The budding cricketers will reap rich benefits from his vast experience not only as a cricketer but also as the Indian national team coach.

NMS-DPS chairman Dr Ravi Pillai said: "He will lend his services and expertise by coaching DPS students on all days during his visit. The residents of Bahrain will also get an opportunity to interact with him in the 'Open Day Programme' being organised for parents on June 24 at 5pm at Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam Hall.

"Cricket enthusiasts from other schools in the kingdom can also attend coaching sessions on June 26 and 27 from 9.30am to noon at Al Ahli Club Campus, Zinj. These sessions will be absolutely free of cost."

Madanlal was named cricketer of the year in 1976 and was the awarded India's prestigious Arjuna Award in 1989.
