Sales and customer service executives from Euro Motors, the exclusive importer of BMW in Bahrain, recently completed a specialised training programme on new BMW technologies and their application in new vehicle models.
Professional BMW trainers from Germany and the UK conducted the training on some of the most sophisticated automotive technologies available. These included the ConnectedDrive networked mobility platform, which provides onboard internet and telephone communications as well as satellite navigation and emergency tracking.
The staff also received training on technology specific to the new BMW 7 Series. These included the lane change and lane departure warning systems, which alert the driver to any surrounding vehicles when changing lanes; head-up display, a special feature that projects information such as speed, navigation, direction and alerts onto the windscreen to keep the driver's attention on the road; iDrive, BMW's control system which allows the driver to access information, entertainment and comfort features; and night vision, a system that is capable of identifying and detecting individual people in the dark at distances of up to 100 metres using thermal imaging technology.
"Euro Motors has enjoyed huge success over the past decade, and has doubled its workforce along the way. It is very important that we continue to support that growth by investing in the ongoing development of our staff and services," said Paul Yates, general manager, Euro Motors.
"BMW cars have some of the most advanced and truly innovative technology found in any vehicles, so we need to ensure that our sales teams receive regular training to be able to effectively communicate the benefits of these features to our customers." Mr Yates added.
The training was conducted over several sessions at the Euro Motors headquarters in Manama.
Sales team members from the company took part, receiving training certificates afterwards.
