The Albareh cafŽ in Adliya is hosting an exhibition entitled 'Portrait' featuring the work of 12 artists. It opens at 8pm and will run until September 20. The Art House has opened workshops for children aged six to 12 on Sundays and Tuesdays at its premises in Saar.

British artist Cheney Fairchild will be offering limited places on the four-week course on learning how to throw and turn on the potter's wheel.

Children will ne allowed to have a go at making bowls and will learn basic turning and glazing techniques. It should enable children to progress from a beginner level to an intermediate level in an atmosphere that is relaxed and fun. Students will be allowed to explore their creative flair and advance at a comfortable pace at the wheel.

Sunday sessions include September 13, 20 and 27 and Tuesday sessions include September 15, 22 and 29. Timings are 2.30pm to 4pm for Session 1 and 4.30pm to 6pm for session two on both days. For details contact Cheney on 39987802 or visit the website at www.cheneyfairchild. com
