Gulf Weekly SPLASHDOWN!

Wahooo! Water Park at the Bahrain City Centre has finally removed the hoardings and opened its doors to the public, writes ASMA SALMAN.

The $65 million project, owned by Majid Al Futtaim Leisure, took almost three years to complete and is the jewel in the mega mall's crown. Wahooo! is the Middle East's first indoor-outdoor water park and is centred around a moored schooner with a tropical Indian Ocean theme.

GulfWeekly staff and their families and friends were invited to visit Wahooo! shortly before this week's official opening and the children in the party were the first in Bahrain to put the array of rides to the test.

Damien Latham, general manager of Wahooo!, said: "It is wonderful to see Wahooo! come to life for the very first time with the squeals and laughter of children.

"We have been waiting for this moment and are very proud to be able to finally deliver to Bahrain. Since last year people have been asking 'what have you got behind the hoardings?' Now we are ready and raring to let them see for themselves!

"I'm sure that visitors will be astounded at what we have to offer. Wahooo! is very modern and has a real zip and punch to it. Undoubtedly, Wahooo! will be the benchmark for future indoor-outdoor water parks in the region."
