With only two months to go until the launch event, joint-organisers Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) for the Kingdom of Bahrain and Farnborough International Ltd (FIL) are looking forward to what looks likely to be a launch event sell-out.

To date, 90 per cent of the chalets units have been sold for the show which will take place at Sakhir from January 21-23, 2010, with excellent indications of aircraft and product demonstrations.

Since invitations to take part were issued towards the end of 2008 and throughout 2009, FIL has announced steady sales for the inaugural event from across all sectors of the aerospace industry: business aviation, defence and commercial, and beyond from related industries.

Participants at BIAS 2010 include Airbus, BAE Systems, Blenheim Capital Partners, Boeing, Cessna, DHL, Gulf Air, Lockheed Martin and Rolls-Royce.

BIAS 2010 - which is being held under Royal patronage - will be one-of-a-kind in the aerospace events calendar. Comprising only 40 chalets and no exhibitions halls, companies taking part will be afforded tailor-made opportunities to network with highly important delegations and procurement executives from the industry and associated industries.

Speaking at the Dubai Airshow 2009, FIL Exhibitions & Events director Amanda Stainer said: "CAA and FIL are delighted with the take-up on chalets to date.

"We are especially pleased to have received such support from the UKTI Defence & Security Organisation who will be hosting an outdoor demonstration area displaying products and equipment and featuring the groundbreaking attraction of UAV flying displays.

"We are certain BIAS will be a fantastic event. It will be attended by major players from throughout the aerospace community."
