A gloomy foreboding cloud seemed to hover over the sun-baked Bahraini football team in New Zealand as their counterparts were at ease in the chillier climate. It was a dark day for Bahrain, leaving the nation heartbroken.

Hadn't we all been ready to celebrate the win that Bahrain so richly deserved?

The Bahraini team was no less skilled than the Kiwis yet Lady Luck had deserted them once again - kudos to the team for having got so far.

But all that is in the past now and we need to look to the future and rebuild what has been broken. The team seemed inconsolable after the loss and many feared for their future.

But they picked themselves up, dusted themselves down and kept their chins high and went on to win their next match against Yemen in style.

This just goes to show us that if we decide to put away our defeats and work harder, we can bounce back. If you fail to accomplish, set your sights on something else and work harder.

Losing hurts ... but getting up makes you stronger and prouder. Don't believe in such a thing as a once in a lifetime opportunity. Life's full of choices, it is up to you to pick one, don't let it pass by and don't forget to fight for it.

The Bahraini players have talent, agility and skill. When their rightful time comes, they will dazzle on the world's stage. Till then, it is practice and undying devotion and will; holding high the expectations of an entire nation.

Keep the dream alive and you'll make it!
