The British Club of Bahrain is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a line-up of three tribute acts - Killer Queen, Madonna and Tina Turner on May 6. There will also be a DJ. Tickets are priced at BD18 for members, BD25 for guests, inclusive of food available at cooking stations. There is also a grand anniversary raffle draw giving guests the chance to win a Mini Cooper, diamond watches, gold necklaces and more. This is a closed club event which means access to the club from 7.30pm will be by ticket holders only. DHL Express-Bahrain will host The Memorial Trophy competition featuring DHL Barbarians versus Bahrain Selected on May 6 at the Rugby Club in Saar with kick-off at 7.30pm. All proceeds will be donated to the BSPCA and St Christopher's Church. The game is being held in memory of DHL staff who lost their lives in Kabul in 2008.

The Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research will present the works of Bahraini artist Khalid Farhan from 7pm on May 16 until June 5 at the Bin Matar House in Muharraq. He will present a selection of sculptures in brass and bronze, ranging from small, hand-size pieces to forms that are over two meters high. Farhan was born in Muharraq and is also a sculptor in wood, stone, brass and bronze. The Bin Matar House is open Saturday to Thursday, from 9am-1pm and 4-7pm.
